The faction which won - the Roman Empire, which was the most powerful nation in the world then, was responsible for the Greek translation which became the modern Christian Bible.
The Romans due to their ego, unfortunately, deliberately chose to ignore the original Aramaic version, for Greek was considered the only ‘civilized’ language, fit for their Roman subjects… despite the fact that Jesus spoke in Aramaic.
To make matters worse, much of early Christianity teachings written in other languages were also obliterated by the Roman Church in the fourth century… making it even more difficult to trace the Original Prayer of Jesus Christ that was spoken in the Aramaic tongue.
Aramaic is as alien to Greek as Greek is to English. Inevitably translating Aramaic into Greek presented problems - and then there was the problem of translating from Greek into English.
